He was the person who made this dance move FAMOUS!
A popping move that became popular around the world after Michael Jackson executed the dance move during a performance of "Billie Jean" on Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever on March 25, 1983 . It subsequently became his signature move, and is now one of the best-known dance techniques in the world.

So What is Moonwalk?

The moonwalk is a dance technique that presents the illusion of the dancer being pulled backwards while attempting to walk forward.

When I was younger I heard family stories about how we were somehow connected to Michael Jackson, but I never really understood what they were talking about. I wanted to clear it up once and for all, so I went over to my older brother Larry's house. My older brother Curtis was there, too.

"Okay," I said, "so what's our connection?"
"Michael's Moonwalk Dance," Larry said.
"His Moonwalk Dance? What's his Moonwalk Dance got to do with our family?"
"A lot. Our family did it first."
"Who did?"
"James."
"James? Our brother James?"
"Yep," Curt said. "He was the first."
"You're kidding."
"Nope. You've heard the family story about that."
"I've heard bits and pieces but I never paid attention. I always thought it was just family folklore."
"Oh no," Larry said. "It happened. We saw it. We were there. Me and Curt and James."
"Especially James," Curt said.
"So what happened?"

"It was back in 1982," Larry said. "Even then Michael was already a big star but he wasn't quite yet a superstar, so he still used to give small concerts. He decided to give one at Willow Run High School. Since me and Curt and James were old graduates the principal asked us to be volunteer parking lot security guards. No money, but we didn't care. We just wanted to see 'The Michael Jackson.'"

"So we're walking around the parking lot, checking to make sure everything's all right before Michael's arrival. James was joking around with Curt about something or other and wasn't paying attention where he was walking and BAM! He stepped in a pile of dog crap."

"I mean a big pile," Curt said. "A HUGE pile."

"Humongous," Larry said. "James got the dog crap on both soles of his shoes. I mean they were covered, about six inches thick. And man, he was hot. So he scraped his right shoe against the pavement to get it off. Then he scraped his left shoe. Then his right. Then his left. Well, the horse dog that left that deposit must have had greasy burritos for lunch because James started sliding backwards. And that made him even madder. He kept cussing and huffing and puffing and scraping, and the harder he scraped the farther and faster backwards he went. Faster and faster. He was smoking. I bet he was doing - what would you say, Curt?"

"Oh, he was flying. Probably 30 miles an hour."

"At least. So there went James, trying to get some forward traction but still slipping and sliding backwards. And just as he was sliding outside the parking lot gate, Michael's limo pulled in. The driver saw James and screeched to a halt. Michael stuck his head out the window. His mouth hung open as James slipslided backwards past him. Finally I guess the dog crap on James' shoes wore off because he slowed down to a crawl, then stopped, teetered back and forth, back and forth, and finally fell straight back onto the pavement."

"Michael and his entourage jumped out of the limo and ran over to James. Smoke was still coming from his shoes, and the soles had a slight orange glow. Me and Curt ran over, too. Michael leaned over top of James and said 'Are you all right?' James raised his head and nodded. Michael said 'Man, that was the coolest dance I've ever seen! Can I borrow it for tonight's concert?' James nodded again. Then Michael sniffed the air and his nose wrinkled up."

"That was back when he still had his original nose," Curt said.

"Yeah. So he leaned into James' face and said 'But I think I'll try it without the dog crap!' Then he cackled. Then his entourage laughed. Hell, even me and Curt laughed. Then Michael said 'Come on. I have some quick rehearsing to do.' So him and his entourage piled back in the limo and drove off."

"So where was James? "

"Still lying there on the pavement. Me and Curt went over and picked him up. By then his shoes had stopped smoking, and the orange glow was gone, but he still smelled like dog crap. So we tossed him in Curt's car trunk and took him home. And that night, right there on the Willow Run auditorium stage, Michael did Brother James' Dogcrap Slide."
"But without the dog crap."
"Without the dog crap. And when he was done he called it the Moonwalk. And the rest is dance history."

"So he stole the dance from James."
"Not really stole. We were there. James was delirious but he did tell Michael he wouldn't mind if he used his Dogcrap Slide."
"Man. I bet James hated Michael after that."
"I think at first he did. But he was always a big fan of Michael. So after a while he got over it. Well, not completely."
"Why do you say that?"

"I remember after that there were evenings he'd leave the house with a flour sack, and later at night he'd come back to the front yard and dump out his collection of Willow Run neighborhood dog turds. And for the rest of the night me and Curt would watch him from the bedroom window. He'd be singing at the top of his lungs 'Billie Jean is not my lover,' the whole time cussing and huffing and puffing and scraping. Now I don't know if it's because Michael already claimed it as his own, or maybe it was the nonskid quality of the neighborhood dog turds he collected, but after that parking lot incident James could never ever again do his Dogcrap Slide."

TITANIC 3D

The movie was AMAZING!

I went to watch this TITANIC 3D movie proudly given by OMY!

It was really a nice show.. now in 3D!

84 years later, a 100-year-old woman named Rose DeWitt Bukater tells the story to her granddaughter Lizzy Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby Buell and Anatoly Mikailavich on the Keldysh about her life set in April 10th 1912, on a ship called Titanic when young Rose boards the departing ship with the upper-class passengers and her mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, and her fiancé, Caledon Hockley.

Meanwhile, a drifter and artist named Jack Dawson and his best friend Fabrizio De Rossi win third-class tickets to the ship in a game.

And she explains the whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on its first and last voyage April 15th, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning.

My role at the F&N Singapore Dance Delight Vol.3.

On 17th Mar 2012, I was at the newly refurbished Kallang Theatre as a VIDEO MAN!!!
Hmm... you guys must be wondering why I was there as a video man right?

Yep! For some of you who had read my previous posts or saw from my Facebook, I'm actually the Official Blogger with my for the F&N Singapore Dance Delight Vol.3 with my teammate, William and that day was the FINALS.

Just few days before the event, William and I actually spent some time at a cafe to discuss on how we can do a good coverage on this event to share with our readers and friends. After some thoughts, we came out with
TWO ROLES - Video Man & Photographer!!!

So I took up the Video Man role and William the Photographer. We thought this would be the BEST TEAMWORK coz we can each focus on our own role. One fully concentrate on taking GOOD VIDEOS and the other concentrate on taking NICE PHOTOS!!!

HERE'S MY SPOT FOR THAT NIGHT!

Can you imagine me standin' there for a few hours from 7-10pm ?trying to capture all the videos to my camera.. Hehehe...but really sad to say I missed the 17th team that came out to perform.when I pressed stop recording button at the end of their performance, my camera told me MEMORY IS FULL! when I tracked back whether that video was saved.. it was not there. :(Nevertheless.. I've tried my best!

It was a GREAT SHOW to watch!!!

"Commuters, Commuters, Give up your seats. Don’t be shy, Give it a try!" These are words from 10-year-old Stella Yuen who took part in LTA's 'Make it Right for a Better Ride' contest last year, which garnered nearly 1,700 student entries. Besides the reflections from students like Stella, this year’s graciousness programme also featured the seniors who shared their thoughts on gracious commuting. Members from the Life Art Society also contributed Chinese verses inspiring gracious behaviours through calligraphy, adding an artistic boost to the public transport network.
You can see these vibrant posters and stickers featuring the winners at selected MRT stations, bus shelters, MRT trains and buses. Look out for them the next time when you take the trains or buses or check them out at www.facebook.com/WeKeepYourWorldMoving.

I'm a frequent user of the train service every day, traveling to and fro my work place and i noticed many ungraceful act of human beings on or outside of the train. So I'm here to Make it Right for a Better Ride!

1. Give up your seat to the elderly
2. Give up your seat to the pregnant lady
3. Give up your seat to whoever that needs it more than you
4. Say "Thank you" to the person who gave the seat to you
5. Say "Excuse me" if someone is in your way, rather than pushing your way out
6. Always stay behind the yellow lines till all the alighting passengers has alighted
7. Allow passengers to come out of the train first before entering
8. Move in to the center of the train so that more passengers can board on the same train with you too
9. Do not bring food (esp. durians, as some people do not like the smell) or drinks on to the train
10. Do not lean onto the poles for the commuters to grab
11. Do not sit on the floor as it will disrupt the human traffic and cause inconvenience to the commuters
12. Do not carry out unpleasant actions like digging your nose on the train
13. Do not brush your hair too hard as it may be unhygienic to the person beside you
14. Do not be too intimate with your partner on the train
15. Do not spit on the train
16. Do not speak too loud on the train
17. Do not listen to your earpiece with very loud volume as it may disturb your fellow commuters
18. Do not play games on your device with the music on, it may cause disturbance to others.
19. Silent your mobile phone so that it would not disturb others
20. Be prepared when the door is opening from the other side as you may be blocking the traffic that is coming from behind you 
21. Cover your mouth when you yawn or cough
22. Always try to leave the "Reserved Seat" empty for the elderly or pregnant woman to sit
23. If you have available seats beside you, shift yourself to either the left or right seat so that the other couple whom you've been watching can sit together and chat
24. Help to inform the person if his or her stuff drop onto the floor
25. Pick up any litter that is on the floor
26. Look after your kids, do not let them run around on the train or swing from one handle to another
27. Try to keep yourself clean and fresh when boarding the train so that you do not stink
28. When someone's bag is left opened, be kind to inform him or her
29. Stay awake so that you would not doze off and knock onto the person beside u
30. Do not stare at people even you have nothing to do
31. Last but not least, DO NOT FART on the train!

*Note: These are points to note with respect to when you're on the train, it will be likewise for buses. :)

Here are some of the bad experiences that I encountered personally.

Scenario 1

The was once I saw an elderly man walking in to the center of the bus.. his movement was very slow as his legs were weak. A young guy who was sitting in front of him pretend to be very engrossed playing his game on the phone, ignoring the old man who was in front of him. It lasted for quite some time until the old man arrived at his stop, he then got up an alighted at the same stop with him.

My say...
This is very inconsiderate and selfish. The young chap should have stop or pause his game for a while and allow the old man to sit down and rest. Furthermore, the bus was moving, it will swerve left or right and the old man has to grab on to the poles tight before he ending up in a fall, the result might not be good for him at this age. I was too far to ask the guy to give up his seat at that time, the bus was crowded also.

Scenario 2

When i was about to exit the train, the commuters stood directly outside the train door, did not stand behind the yellow lines, did not care if i'm coming out though i'm the only one coming out, hence blocking my way when i walked out of the train. Sometimes they even went in before i came out.

My say...
Its a very unpleasant sight to see these people rushing in to the train trying to grab a good seat for themselves and did not care for others.

Scenario 3

There were a few occasions whereby I travelled on the train, someone actually farted and the smell was so strong that I couldn't think of myself staying there and continue to smell, so i stood up and walk over to another carriage.

My say...
It was AWFULLLLL...

Here are some of the ideal experiences that I think we can cultivate and hence improve the graciousness of our society.

Scenario 1

DO NOT SIT on the reserved seats. The word "Reserved" is already in the Past Tense.. which means someone has already reserved it already. You should not sit on it unless you are one of the categories below.

They are mainly the elderly, pregnant woman, parent with a child or baby and injured person who has moving difficulty. Are you one of those? Else leave the seat empty for whoever who is in this category to sit. Make it available for them ANYTIME when they come in to the train. It would help save their trouble asking you to give up the seat to them, sometimes they might be shy to ask. Everybody is different. :)

Here is an example of how a lady occupy the reserved seat though she's not the one sitting it.

 She occupied the seat with her shopping bags.

Scenario 2

When you have empty seats beside you and you saw a couple, be it they are friends or anything and they wanna find a seat beside you, do not hesitate to shift yourself to the left or the right seat so that both of them can sit together and continue to chat. This is being GRACEFUL! :) Hope everyone can adopt this gesture, else perhaps ASK YOURSELF "WHY HESITATE?"

Here are some unpleasant sights of commuters on the trains and buses grabbed from the STOMP website.
Some of which are quite similar to what I've mentioned earlier in the point list above, e.g. not sitting on the train floor and speaking too loudly.

A boy seated on the train floor, blocking the way of fellow commuters. 

The STOMPer said
"He is blocking the way and inconveniencing people as they move out of the MRT."

 These two commuters hogging Reserved Seats on MRT and ignoring a person with baby in front of them.

The STOMPer wrote:
"These two people were acting blur so that they don't need to give up their seats to the person who was carrying a baby in front of them."

STOMPer Angie was annoyed to see these kids drinking and making a racket on the train.

The STOMPer wrote:
"I was on the train heading towards Marina Bay this afternoon when I saw this group of primary school kids on the train." 

"They were drinking and making a lot of noise on the train."
"Even though they are just kids they should have basic knowledge of how you're not supposed to drink on the train."

The STOMPer said "The actions of this couple were making the people around them uncomfortable."
